Sweet Pav Bun
Want to indulge in little clouds of joy? Well, You are in the right place. Let me take u quickly through this journey of baking the quick and easy pav!
You will need:
Flour-2cups
Milk-1 cup
Dry Yeast-1 tsp
Sugar-1 tbsp
Salt- 1 tsp
Baking powder- 1/2 tsp
Oil/melted butter- 2 tbsp
Sesame for garnish(optional)
A baking tray
Start with lukewarm milk and add sugar, yeast. Keep this mixture aside for ten minutes, let the yeast activate. To this mixture, add flour,salt, baking powder and knead well for ten minutes, the dough may feel sticky in the beginning but Patience is all u need, use some flour for dusting if you feel its too sticky. Lastly, add in the oil and knead further. U dough should feel soft to touch and spring back. Make sure you have stretched it well and its elastic. Shape it into a round ball, cover it with a damp cloth or a cling film and let it rest for one hour at a warm place.
After an hour, you should find that the dough has doubled in size. Give a quick soft knock to the dough and knead softly. Now make even sized balls and place them in a buttered baking tray with atleast one inch gap between each ball. Let this again rest for 20-25 minutes. In the meantime, preheat your oven to 180°C.
Before you pop it in the oven the ball should have been doubled in size and attched to each other as shown in the picture. U can give a milk or egg wash and sprinkle some sesame seeds or pepper for better taste and appearance.
